In 1999 I traveled
to India with 4 good friends, on a "textile celebration" trip.
I brought back LOTS of silk saris, including some with gold threads
woven in, as well as other silk fabrics, woven Madras cottons, block-printed
cottons, tie-dyed "bandani" fabrics, paper made from cotton
rag, and many other mercantile treasures. I foundation-pieced the "square-in-a-square"
blocks while savoring the shimmer and beauty of the fabrics. Click
